The E-Z Guide To Managing Ebola Panic

How I learned to stop worrying about Ebola and just get a damn flu shot

What was last year's cold-and-flu season has become this year's ye-gods-I-have-Ebola season. The good news? You probably don't have Ebola. Worst case, that fever/cough/chills combo is the flu. And thanks to modern medicine, there's an easy flu-fighting lifehack: the flu shot.
If you haven’t gotten one yet, we’re assuming it’s not on purpose. You’re a busy guy with a lot of responsibilities. But trust us, it's worth the time and trouble. When winter comes, a family member, friend or co-worker is going complain of some aches, a little temp, and a case of the sniffles. Some poor soul might even blow chunks next to you on the bus. But you, you rational denizen of the first world, got a flu shot. Take comfort knowing your immunity is operating optimally.
Still skeptical? Before you go in to self-imposed quarantine or start stocking up on duct tape and canned goods, consult our handy flowchart. It allows you to cross-check your risk of Ebola exposure against an intelligently measured response.
