Finding the Truth
The claim: High protein diets cause cancer.
There’s been plenty of fanfare about new research in the journal Cell Metabolism which claims to have discovered high-protein diets are likely to chop years off your life along with the weight they shed.
Some even said it’s as bad as smoking. But
before you start chucking out your protein powder know that these studies were conducted on sedentary folk who weren’t using the protein to recover and charge their workouts. Plus, it didn’t factor in the quality of the protein, so a piece of organic grilled chicken breast was tantamount to that dirty rotten burger.
All this study does is open the door to more research rather than demonize one type of nutrient. So shake your protein drinks safe in the knowledge it’s not an early death sentence.
As i read this i find ridiculous. In general human being takes in more ''sugars'' from various carbohydrate foods. In other words carbs does not promote growth, but protein- that's the one reason for pure protein supplements.
